Independent candidate escapes grenade attack in Noshki

QUETTA: Suspected militants lobbed a hand grenade at the residence of Major (retd) Muhammad Asif Mengal in Noshki town of Balochistan on Monday night, police said.

Mengal is contesting election for PB 40 as an independent candidate from Noshki.

Police said two militants on a motorcycle lobbed a hand grenade at the residence of Mengal in Killi Mengalabad area of Noshki town.

There was no human loss as result of the attack. However, police said the blast damaged a small portion of the house.

They said at the time of attack Mengal was not at his residence. The militants escaped unhurt from the spot.

This incident has come after series of attacks at candidates and political parties election offices in Quetta and other parts of the province.
