Talking to newsmen after attending a function organized to pay tribute to the martyrs of Kashmir, he said Pakistan and India had agreed to hold negotiations over the Kashmir issue but it won’t have any impact on the activities of mujahideen.
No international pressure can stop us from our activities, he said.
He accused India of trying to malign the mujahideen through a propaganda campaign. Their just struggle was equated with terrorism and charges of infiltration were hurled at Pakistan, he said.
The international community, however, had realised the factual position and rejected the propaganda, he said. Still, anyone having any doubt about the activities of mujahideen was welcome to visit Kashmir to see if any training camp for terrorism existed, he said.
Mr Salahuddin said the mujahideen had brought down the morale of Indian forces and it was struggling to wriggle out of the dispute.
He said there were three parties to the dispute — India, Pakistan and the mujahideen.
The issue could be resolved only if all those groups agreed, he said.
He said bilateral talks could not resolve the dispute.
Speaking at the function, he expressed the fear that Pakistan might be pressured to crack down on the mujahideen’s activities but said it would never be accepted. The supreme council of mujahideen would run its activities independently, he said.
Punjab Jamaat-i-Islami chief Hafiz Mohammad Idrees said no one could stop the activities of mujahideen.
