LAKKI MARWAT, May 17: Pakistan People’s Party workers observed a token hunger strike on Friday to press their demands for the repeal of the Legal Framework Order and lifting of the ban on former prime ministers Benazir Bhutto and Nawaz Sharif’s return to the country.
The hunger strike camp was set up near the district courts.
The protesters demanded that the 1973 Constitution should be revived and all the controversial amendments and clauses should be struck down from the document.
The speakers termed the LFO extra-constitutional and called for its repeal so that democracy could be established on a strong footing.
