ISLAMABAD, May 16: The ambassador of Saudi Arabia to Pakistan, Ali Saeed Awadh Asseri, called on Prime Minister Mir Zafarullah Khan Jamali here on Thursday and discussed with him matters pertaining to Pakistan and Saudi relations.
Talking to the ambassador, the Prime Minister said the extremely cordial relations between the two brotherly countries were rooted deep in history. These would go from strength to strength in the days to come, he added.
The Prime Minister thanked the ambassador for accommodating an additional 10,000 Hajis from Pakistan this year. He also offered his condolences on the loss of precious lives in the recent terrorist incidents in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
Meanwhile, The speaker of National Assembly, Chaudhry Amir Hussain, along with senior parliamentarians called on Prime Minister Mir Zafarullah Khan Jamali here on Thursday and discussed with him matters of national relevance.
They remained with the Prime Minister for some time and exchanged views on legal and constitutional matters. The overall political situation of the country also came under discussion.
Talking to the delegation, the Prime Minister said the government believed in taking all its allies along on matters of national interest. The parliamentarians who met the Prime Minister included Chaudhry Shujaat Hussain, Justice Abdul Razak Taheem (retired), Riaz Hussain Pirzada, Syed Safwanullah, S.M. Zafar and Dr Sher Afgan Khan Niazi.—APP
