2 killed in accidents

DERA ISMAIL KHAN, May 16: Two people were killed and one was injured in separate incidents here on Friday.

A bicyclist Ali Raza received injuries when a speedy truck (1854-DIK) hit him near Kotli Imam on Dera Bannu Road. He collided with a motorcyclist and they both fell to the ground.

They were taken to a hospital. However, Ali Raza died on his way to the hospital, while motorcyclist Mohammed Sadiq was admitted to the DHQ hospital where his condition was stated to be serious. The truck driver fled after the incident.

In another incident, Mohammad Anwar, a kiln worker, was shot dead by a truck driver Said Akbar near Gomal University. Police reported the incident as a family dispute.

HUNGER STRIKE: The local chapter of the PPP observed a hunger strike here on Friday. Party’s divisional president Faisal Karim Kundi, district general secretary Chaudhry Juma Din and a number of other party workers took part in the hunger strike to express resentment against the LFO. They said the PPP would never accept the LFO as a part of the Constitution.
