LAHORE, May 14: The Punjab accountant general and the Rawalpindi district officer have redressed the grievances of two complainants regarding payment of the GP Fund on Punjab ombudsman’s orders.

Former Punjab Bureau of Statistics superintendent Manzoor Husain had complained that he was not paid his residual GP Fund despite the fact that he had provided the necessary details to the AG.

The AG has issued him a payment authority for Rs19,798.

Mian Bashir Ahmed had said that he was not paid the GP Fund and pension after his retirement in June 2000. Soon after filing an application with the Punjab ombudsman in October 2000, Mian Ahmed died.

A sum of Rs13,997 has been paid to the widow on account of the GP Fund and orders issued in her favour for payment of pension. — Reporter
