HYDERABAD, May 12: The Communist Party of Pakistan (Khaskheli group) observed the 185th birth anniversary of one of the most potent ideologues of the 20th Century, Karl Marx, at the local press club on Sunday.
Speaking on the occasion, Imdad Kazi said: “Pakistani army is divided over the Muttahida Majlis-i-Amal as one of its factions wants to use the religio-political alliance and the spectre of fundamentalism as a bargaining chip while dealing with the United States, and the other group wants to accept the conditionalities outlined by the American imperialists.
Mr Kazi said that while apparently being friendly towards each other, the establishments of Pakistan and the US differed on downsizing of Pakistani armed forces, Kashmir problem, nuclear weapons and share of multinational companies in Pakistan.
He said that the US administration might allow Pakistan army a constitutional role if it compromised on other issues.
