LAHORE, May 23: All town administrators and officers have been directed to seal constructed and under-construction residential and commercial buildings if they find any violation of building bylaws there.

“Since we are receiving complaints about violation of building bylaws resulting in accidents in the city on a daily basis, administrators and officers of all nine towns must take this issue seriously and start a campaign against such constructions immediately,” District Coordination Officer Rizwan Mehboob said at a meeting with officials here on Thursday.

He said those who constructed buildings without approval or were currently doing so must be punished. He directed the officials to visit Sunday Bazaars every week and submit a Ramazan contingency plan to his office by Monday.

Earlier presiding over a meeting, the DCO directed the administrators/assistant commissioners to submit current property schedule rates to his office in a couple of days.

DENGUE: The Data Ganj Bakhsh Town administration has been asked to seal a paint factory and trade centre for their owners’ failure in taking dengue prevention measures.

The action was ordered at a meeting of town’s dengue emergency response committee meeting, which was presided over by local government special secretary Daud Ahmad. Ahmaddirected the Wasa managing director to take action against his subordinates over absence from meetings.
