LAKKI MARWAT, May 23: A man and his nephew were killed by rivals over blood feud in Bachkan Ahmadzai village on Thursday.

An official of Tajori police station said Misal Khan and nephew Meer Kamal died instantly after their rivals fired gunshots at them in the village.

He said the gunmen fled after the attack.

The official said the bodies were given to the relevant families after autopsy at a hospital in Naurang town.

Police booked Amanullah and brother Matiullah on the complaint of Misal Khan’s brother Ghani Rehman and began investigation.

MILITANT HELD: Police arrested a militant in Titterkhel village of Lakki Marwat on Thursday.

A local police official said policemen backed by Elite Force and Anti-Terror Squad commandos raided a place in the village and arrested militant Zainullah.

He said the militant was wanted by police for many terrorist acts.

ARREST OF ATTACKERS DEMANDED: Leaders of Wapda hydro and Paigham unions in Lakki Marwat have set a 48-hour deadline for the arrest of torturers of Pesco officials in Gandi Khankhel area.

During a meeting in Naurang town, Younas Khan and Ali Sher Khan of Wapda Hydro Union and Aslam Khan and Ihsan Khan of Wapda Paigham Union said power thief Fareedullah and his accomplices thrashed Pesco officials when they disconnected an illegal connection in Gandi Khankhel area recently.

They said despite registration of FIR, local police were reluctant to arrest attackers.

The two said Wapda employees would agitate if action was not taken against attackers within 48 hours.

FAMILY LOOTED: Armed men wearing police and military uniforms looted a family in Khaisore Kilay near Naurang town on Wednesday night.

A police official said a dozen of armed men entered the house of Shah Daraz pretending that they were personnel of law-enforcement agencies and wanted to search the house for militants.

He said that the armed men later locked inmates in a room and got hold of cash, gold ornaments and weapons before fleeing.The official said police arrested a suspected robber and were expecting a breakthrough in the next 48 hours.
