PESHAWAR, May 22: Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf has decided to focus on restoration of peace in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa in order to attract investors and revive the terrorism-affected economy.

This was stated by MPA-elect Shaukat Ali Yousufzai while speaking at a reception held for him by Peshawar Press Club here on Wednesday. He was accompanied by MPAs and MNAs of his party.

“Our government will devise policies in consultation with the relevant stakeholders to solve the long-awaited problems and facilitate the people,” he said.

Mr Yousufzai said that restoration of peace in the province would be the top priority of PTI-led government because it was the basic need of everyone and essential for overcoming important issues being confronted by people.

He said that the challenges were too big, particularly the law and order and electricity crisis, but issues could be resolved with the support of relevant stakeholders.

He said that the existing crisis had been created by successive governments which always focused on accumulation of wealth and adopted wrong policies, particularly in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. He alleged that the rulers followed imported policies during the last five years, which created chaos in the country.

“We want sustainable peace, revival of industries and business activities and investment in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa,” he said and added that the PTI-led provincial government would make all efforts for establishment of peace in the province.

The MPA-elect said that they would make serious efforts to end corruption and spend more and more funds on the people’s welfare. He said that there was a need for creating a system where no option was left for corrupt practices in the government institutions.

He said that the government would take effective measures for tackling all issues in health, education and social sectors. He said that education standard of public sector institutes would be improved. Mr Yousufzai promised to raise his voice on the floor of the house for resolution of all issues of working journalists.
