LAHORE, May 22: The new Punjab government of the PML-N will spend Rs700 billion on education sector during the next five years, says former chief minister Shahbaz Sharif.

“The PML-N will come up to expectations of the people,” he said while addressing a meeting of the party members here on Wednesday.

He said the PML-N believed in practical work instead of promises and any political party could feel pride over five-year performance of the previous Punjab government.

Shahbaz said education would be the government’s top priority. Besides Daanish schools, provision of missing facilities would be ensured in thousands of government schools of the province.

He said like rapid bus service, it would introduce rapid education system for bringing about revolutionary changes in education sector.

He said the elected representatives should not forget that they were answerable to the people of Pakistan, including their voters.

Shahbaz said: “We will welcome the proposals of the opposition in every matter including solving the educational problems and reducing loadshedding.”
