LAHORE: Former chief minister Punjab Shahbaz Sharif on Tuesday said the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) has no interest in the politics of ‘sit-ins and protests.’
In a statement issued here on Tuesday, he said, “It is time to resolve people’s problems instead of staging protests.” He appealed to all political parties to get united to resolve the problems of people of the country.
The former CM said the PML-N’s only priority was to resolve people’s problems and it had started work on ways to end loadshedding even before coming to power.
Shahbaz Sharif said those who had lost elections should accept the poll results wholeheartedly and in the true spirit of democracy.
“The PML-N expects similar attitude from the parties which have lost the May 11 elections against it,” he added.
About his recent visit to Balochistan, Shahbaz said the last government had usurped the rights of people by embezzling development funds of the province.
“Had funds been utilised properly, all areas of Balochistan, including Quetta, would have been in a much better shape today,” he said.
The PML-N leader said that unlike past, the size of cabinet in Balochistan would be kept normal. “Only those people will be included in the cabinet who would properly utilise funds and build hospitals, colleges, schools and roads in the province,” he added.
