KARACHI, May 20: The Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf believes in the politics of peace, but no one will be allowed to harm our party workers, PTI vice chairman Shah Mehmood Qureshi said while chairing a party meeting at the residence of PTI Sindh chief Nadir Akmal Leghari on Monday.
The participants in the meeting reviewed post-election situation with specific reference to the brewing developments in Karachi and decided to plan a future strategy in consultation with the party leadership.
Shah Mehmood Qureshi said: “The people ought to accept mandate of the people instead of creating political unrest.”
The PTI leader described the murder of Zahra Shahid as a dastardly and cowardly act and warned that their peace-loving posture should not be taken as their weakness. He made it clear that if the killers of Zahra Shahid were not brought to book, protests and sit-ins would continue across the country.
Meanwhile, Fateha Soyem of Zahra Shahid was held at her residence.
A large number of PTI workers and central and provincial leaders were present there. The sister of PTI chairman Imran Khan, Aleema Khan, also attended the Soyem. She offered condolences on behalf of Imran Khan to the mother of the deceased and her both daughters.
On the occasion moving scenes were witnessed when women who came to attend Fateha Soyem became emotional and tears rolled down their eyes.
Aleema Khan said Mr Khan was in shock and quite worried about the security of his party activists and would be visiting Karachi soon after his recovery.
