ISLAMABAD, May 20: The National Highway Authority (NHA) envisages construction of 3,713 kilometres of roads at a cost of $3.91 billion.

The NHA at present is looking after a 12,131km network and expects that projects having regional and international links will be completed in the next five years, says NHA’s Member Planning Raja Nowsherwan.

Talking to participants of the 13th senior management course on Monday, Mr Nowsherwan said 2,731km roads were being maintained in Punjab, 2,204km in Sindh, 1,878km in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and 4,565km in Balochistan. Gwadar link roads in Balochistan and Ratodero-Khuzdar-Panjgur Road were among priorities of the NHA, he said.

The member expressed commitment to reduce travel time on the NHA network.
