KARACHI, May 18: After the Muttahida Qaumi Movement, the Majlis-i-Wahdat-i-Muslimeen on Saturday announced a boycott of re-polling in 43 polling stations of NA-250 constituency, but it demanded re-election in all constituencies where “massive rigging” was reported on May 11.
“We firmly believe that such measures [re-polling in 43 polling stations] will not work and return democratic results,” said Allama Amin Shaheedi while speaking at a press conference.
“It’s not about NA-250; almost all constituencies in Karachi faced similar acts of terrorism on May 11 where voters were harassed, polling stations were taken over and members of rival parties tortured.”
“Our candidate of NA-253 had been kidnapped for more than seven hours,” alleged Allama Shaheedi.
