RAWALPINDI, May 8: Pakistan and the United Kingdom have said defence relations between the two countries are progressing well, and they could once again see tangible evidence of this in the form of practical steps being undertaken on both sides.

This was said in a statement issued here on Thursday after the conclusion of the 5th Defence Cooperation Forum meeting between Pakistan and the United Kingdom.

With the signing of the meeting’s record, Sir Kevin Tebbitt, permanent undersecretary of defence, United Kingdom, and Defence Secretary Lt-Gen Hamid Nawaz Khan described the meeting as “highly useful and productive”.

The two-day talks, they said, were held in a cordial atmosphere. Delegations from both sides also highlighted the direction and goals for consolidating and enhancing this cooperation, they added.—Reporter
