ISLAMABAD, May 8: The Supreme Court on Thursday dismissed the appeal of a driver, whose services were terminated on September 12, 2002 by the police department for demanding increase in upper limit of over-time for police drivers.
Jamshed Akhtar, in a letter to police high-ups, had stated that in other government departments the upper limit of the over-time for drivers was Rs1,100 whereas in National Police Academy, where he had been serving, it was only Rs300.
The apex court bench refused to hear the appeal of the driver on the ground that it was filed after the stipulated period.
