MIRPURKHAS, May 5: The director general, Health Services, Sindh, Dr Qadir Bux Qadwani, has said that following publication of reports regarding the death of some people due to cerebral malaria, he visited the affected village, near the Basic Health Unit, Kot Mir, along with the EDO (Health), Mirpurkhas, Dr Captain Fazal Illahi Yousfani, and added that blood tests of 409 people were carried out and only 45 positive cases of malaria were found.
He said this while briefing newsmen at the EDO, health office, Mirpurkhas, on Sunday.
He said that he had visited the Kot Ghulam Mohammad, Samaro, Mirwah, and Pithoro Taluka hospitals but no case of cerebral malaria was detected.
He claimed that proper treatment was being provided to patients.—Correspondent
