ISLAMABAD, May 4: A meeting of the Capital Development Authority (CDA) and representative delegation of the Fruit and Vegetable Market Traders Association will be held soon to resolve problem being faced by the traders.
This was stated by Islamabad chief commissioner, G.M. Khan, while visiting the fruit and vegetable market and Afghan Kutchi Basti in sector I-11 on Saturday.
The chief commissioner met traders engaged in wholesale business in the fruit and vegetable market and discussed various issues concerning the problems being faced by the business community and their demands.
Issues like fee collection from vehicles coming into the market, installation of street lights, ever increasing encroachments were brought to the notice of the chief commissioner.
Earlier, Rana Akbar Hayat, magistrate (Saddar) and administrator of the fruit and vegetable market briefed the chief commissioner on various issues.
Officials from the CDA and Islamabad police were also present on the occasion. It was agreed that the government departments would extend all out cooperation to help business and trade community engaged in trading in the wholesale fruit and vegetable market of Islamabad.
Later, the chief commissioner also visited Afghan Basti in I-11 and asked the departments concerned to extend cooperation regarding ‘I-11 Kutchi Abadi’ as well as the voluntary repatriation scheme of Afghan refugees from the Basti.
