BANNU, May 3: Two second half strikes from Mohammad Azam helped Balochistan Greens shock National Bank of Pakistan (NBP) 2-1 in the 46th national football championship here on Saturday.
After a barren first half, the bankers broke the ice through Mohammad Ashfaq in the 50th minute. But Balochistan Greens battled back to equalise through Azam in the 70th minute.
Azam once again had his name onto the scoresheet when he fired home the match-winner in the 85th-minute.
A sparkling hat trick from four-goal Salman gave Pakistan Navy a comprehensive 6-0 victory over Sindh Greens.
Sindh Greens went 4-0 down before the breather as the sailors went on rampage, starting with a Zahid goal in the eighth minute, while Salman got his first ten minutes later.
Pakistan midfielder Nomi Martin Gill made it 3-0 with a 24th-minute strike and Salman slammed home his second in the 34th minute.
Salman stole the show as he added two more in the second session in the 78th and 81st minutes to complete his hat trick.
Pakistan Air Force were held to a 0-0 draw by Punjab Greens in another game.
