THE Federal Public Service Commission needs to undergo some drastic changes to improve the ever-falling standard of recruitment selection of CSS examinations. The following steps can be taken for doing so
— Induction of technical professionals having a master's degree in International Relations for the Department of Foreign Service or professionals in the Income Tax Department.
— The restriction of candidates being allowed a total of three attempts to clear their examinations should be lifted. The age limit should be relaxed so that more competent candidates can be inducted.
— The marking of optional subjects should be made more uniform so that no injustice is done to candidates. The factor of passing the examinations by sheer luck should be minimised via an improved checking system.
Would the new chairman please look into the matter seriously and on an urgent basis to pull the CSS examination system out of the morass it is in?
