QUETTA: At least two police officials, including a Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP), were killed in a firing incident in Quetta on Monday.

Police said gunmen on motorcycles opened fire at the vehicle of DSP Ameer Muhammad, in the Essa Nagri area of the provincial capital.

Ameer Muhammad and his guard received multiple bullets and were shifted to Bolan Medical Complex Hospital in serious condition for medical treatment.

Police said both of them succumbed to injuries in the hospital. The assailants managed to escape unhurt from the spot.

Police and FC personnel reached the spot and started investigation into the incident. Police said that the incident was an act of targeted killing.
