LAHORE, Feb 15: Information Minister Qamar Zaman Kaira criticised on Friday Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif for his style of governance, saying Public Procurement Regulatory Authority (PPRA) rules had not been followed in different projects, including the Metro Bus Service in Punjab.

Speaking at Meet the Press, he said Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) leaders were not ready to give respect to any one.

He said the chief minister claimed that Rs30 billion had been spent on the MBS but the actual budget was much more.

“There will be accountability of them (PML-N leaders) on this project,” he said adding the MTS had not reduced the traffic problems of Lahore.

“The PML-N leadership thinks that after constructing one road in Lahore, it has resolved the problems of the people,” he said.

Mr Kaira said Shahbaz kept 22 ministries and he was following in the footsteps of Chaudhry Nisar.

“Nawaz Sharif after learning a lesson from the past wants to move forward but Shahbaz follows in the footsteps of Chaudhry Nisar,” he added.

He said mocked the PML-N’s slogan ‘Badla hai Punjab, badlain gay Pakistan’. “The country got weakened because the PML-N leadership had gone to exile and it is raising such slogans,” he said.

He said the seat-adjustment talks between PPP and the PML-Q were under way and any difference would be resolved at the leadership level.
