LAHORE, Jan 10: The Lahore High Court chief justice on Thursday rejected a plea to restrain Dr Tahirul Qadri from holding long march on Jan 14.

Chief Justice Umar Ata Bandial said that holding peaceful long march was a constitutional right of every citizen and no one could be allowed to infringe the right.

He said lawyers had also held a long march for restoration of judiciary and nothing was damaged.

Advocate Rana Ilamuddin Ghazi had filed the petition stating that there was a possibility of terrorist attacks on the rally of Dr Qadri. The petitioner pleaded that Dr Qadri should be asked to explain as to how he would ensure protection of the participants of his long march.
