Terror attack bid foiled in Karachi: police

KARACHI: Karachi Police claim to have thwarted a terror bid by recovering a large quantity of explosive material and arms in the city’s Manghopir area, DawnNews reported.

According to the police, a raid was conducted in Manghopir after an anonymous tip-off was received. During the raid, police searched a car in the area in which they found explosive material.

IG Sindh Fayaz Laghari told a press conference that during the raid a terrorist had also been killed and two suicide jackets had been recovered.

Laghari said that the terrorists were planning to join the Muharram procession as mourners and then would have carried out the attack in the middle of the crowd.

He said that the arrested terrorists were being investigated and preliminary investigations indicated that the group to which they belong may also have been responsible for the Abbas Town bombing.

Hi Pakistani brothers , I am happy to hear this news and would suggest that we set up an Army trial for these terrorist not the civilian court as these guys need proper punishment.

Arresting suicide bomber might help for the time but it's not cure, you have to catch the source then let wear him the jacket and press the button with his/her associates. Otherwise they keep coming back with different faces... AN EYE FOR AN EYE or Sawal jis zaban mai kia jiay jawab bh usi zaban mai daina chaheay.

IG Fayaz Laghari was quick enough to call a press conference and claim the credit. No doubt it is a big achievement for the law enforcing agencies but was he ever quick enough to call a press conference and admit his failures.

Difficult to believe in a nation of 180 millions pakistanis no one knows these terrorists they do not come from sky they live in pakistan some ones son/daughter father/brother unless some one has courage to inform the authorities about these people people in pakistan will keep dying. People who keep them in their houses/neighbourhood and help them are the same as terrorist themselves.
