LAHORE, Nov 9: A rare exhibition of artworks by legendary artist Sadequain opened at Ejaz Art Gallery on Friday.

The gallery has put on display a solo exhibition of Sadequain to promote his art work from the collection of Ejaz Art Gallery.

It was a grand and an exclusive art show which was attended by a large number of people not only from fine arts fraternity but also from different walks of life.

The exciting aspect of the exhibition is that it is the first-ever art show of Sadequain in Lahore in 36 years.

According to renowned water colourist Dr Ajaz Anwar, Sadequain’s last exhibition titled “Bosa” was held in 1976 in the hall of Punjab Council of Arts located on The Mall. The exhibition became extremely popular and drew large crowds. However, it was sabotaged by some miscreants who exploded firecrackers there. After that, Sadequain never exhibited here.

At the Ejaz Art Gallery, a total of 36 artworks are on display out of which there are six paintings and 30 drawings.

The exhibition was inaugurated by Dr Salman Ahmad from the Sadequain Foundation.
