ISLAMABAD: A Pakistani couple killed their teenage daughter by pouring acid on her face and body after they caught her talking to a boy, police and a doctor said on Thursday.
The parents of the 16-year-old confessed to police in Kotli, a town in Pakistan-administered Kashmir, that they attacked their daughter after she had spoke to the boy outside their house, said Mohammad Jahangir, a local doctor at the hospital where she was brought.
“There were third-degree burns on her scalp, face, eyes, nostrils, both arms, chest, foot and lower part of legs. Even her scalp bone was exposed,” he said, adding that the mother initially told the hospital their daughter tried to commit suicide.
Police have arrested the parents.
Almost 1,000 women lost their lives last year in so-called “honour killings” in the conservative South Asian nation, according to the Human Rights Commission of Pakistan. Activists say the actual number is much higher as most cases go unreported.

Don't be so oversmart okay? before judging others you should also have a look at your own country, india has a much higher rate of crimes than that of pakistan, and before saying anything to one's religion you should think hundred times, you sound illiterate, because as far as i know, crime culprits or anything related that has no religion or customs, its totally a matter of some other stuff, as i don't like giving views about one's religion i wouldn't say anything to you regarding your religion BUT yes i must say, you are an educated illiterate.

this is an old Indian culture, honour killing.it is never a part of islam.see the hue and cry that was made over a hindu girl who eloped with a muslim boy in pakistan? if she too is brought back to her family she too will get the same treatment from her community.Check your own backyard Roney!was it not last year one of the many cases whereby a girl from a lower caste and a boy from a upper caste were killed by there parents including uncles for defying the hindu tradition of marrying into other castes or sub castes?Hindus did convert to Islam but did not shed the hindu traditions.

An American mother killed her seven year old son today, stabbing him 150times and slashing his throat. And 5year old daughter slitting her throat and stabbing her 50times. And two pet dogs.
She made the kids get on their knees and pray. She said that devils were inside them and praying to Jesus did not help to get rid of the devils, so she tried to get them out by using two knives.
So this sort of thing goes on every where, more so in thr US than anywhere else. So don't make the error of defining a country, religion, or culture by some sick cases in there. Keep things in prespective and don't draw false conclusions from such happenings.

Roney, before you lump the entire Pakistan nation in statement, please look in the mirror the atrocities that are committed in your country where women are burnt for not bringing dowry with them, where women were expected to be burnt alive when their spouse passed away, where cast system exists and untouchables are killed for touching Brahmins. @Roney Indian, it has nothing to do with Islam. Neither you nor her parents have any knowledge of Islam or its teachings. Majority of women choose appropriate attire. Islam doesn't grant permission to marry multiple wives, it is an exception not a norm. The parents' act is depicable and must be punished to the full extent to law and the fact remain that if Pakistan was a Muslim ruled country implementing Islamic laws, the punishment would be harsher than what the courts may pass. I am thankful that you are not a "Judge", your remark about the country not having hope displays that in your hatred you would have convicted the entire nation for the heinous crime of few.

first of all we need to understand their psych that why the do it. after such investigation one present the solution. in my view the problem is with those who can not understand and work out. parents should understand the need of their children and children should understand their parent's problems. In above case the responsible are not only parents but all the members of our society the boy, the Government, and we all because she was not only one who was prosecuted t s our daily observation and we don't take any appropriate action.

Religious scholars and the so called 'pious' followers should come out in open and say that talking to a boy is fine. Usually honour killings are carried out, according to newspapers and tv reports, by "easy" deaths like bullet, suffocation, etc. Ofcourse i'm not saying honour killing is right. Simple, my friend. The Agency is Reuters, who gathered and reported the News.. In other words, the News was reported from Islamabad by Reuters, but perhaps sent by wire around the world to other Newspapers, as well.

I mean even if it was true that she was talking to a guy outside the house, is it how you choose to fix it? or may be there was lack of grooming on part of this girl's parents? The problem is that our parents seem to have everything "good'' for the children figured and mapped out ignoring the fact that it's 21st century we're living in and that world has moved on.. someone needs to educate parents and the old-lot of under-developed countries.. Instead of cursing ur neighbors , u should look back to ur own country. I am an Indian, a girl. Very much a patriotic, "east or west, India is the best" kind of girl. But I never ignore the ground realities. Mr. Roney Indian, you live in a country where honor killing is almost synonymous with a whole state. I hope you know Haryana is very much a part of India. Rajasthan, Bihar, Uttar Pradesh....they all are doing this. Recently, a khap panchayat in Haryana declared that to avoid instances of rape, girls should marry quite early. Killing and brutality is not new even in your part of the world. India is not immune to such sins. Its better to avoid phrases like "this country has no hope".
