SCBA election held

KARACHI/Hyderabad, Oct 31: The annual election of the Supreme Court Bar Association (SCBA) was held in Karachi and Hyderabad on Wednesday.

Two polling stations were set up on the premises of the Sindh High Court in Karachi and Hyderabad.

The polling station in Hyderabad was set up for lawyers belonging to Hyderabad, Mirpurkhas, Larkana and Sukkur.

Out of the total 427 voters listed in the province, 312 and 39 cast their votes in Karachi and Hyderabad, respectively.

The polling commenced at 9am and continued till 5pm with a lunch and prayer break from 1pm to 2pm.

Members of the SCBA annually elect their 22-member executive committee, including president, four vice-presidents (one from each province), secretary, additional secretary, finance secretary, across the country to run the affairs of the bar.
