KARACHI: Incidents of violence continue unabated in Karachi as incidents of firing claimed three more lives on Thursday, DawnNews reported.

Unidentified armed attackers ambushed the car of a former income tax commissioner in Defence Phase 4, killing him on spot.

In a separate incident, a body of a 20-year-old boy bearing marks of torture was found in Orangi Town No.1.

Another man was killed, while a man injured in a firing incident in North Nazimabad.

Also on Thursday, funeral prayers were held for the president of the Islamic Research Centre, Mukhtar Azmi and his son who were killed in a firing incident on Wednesday.

The prayers were led by Allama Mohammad Ali Naqvi.

The mourners also staged a sit-in protest on Shahrah-e-Pakistan near Ancholi Society.

Strict security arrangements were in place for the funeral.
