KARACHI, Aug 22: Favourite three-year-old chestnut colt Medal Of Honour took a sweet revenge of his last defeat by getting the better of colt Babu by eight lengths to lift The Eid Milan Cup in the Gymkhana race meeting at the Karachi Racecourse on Wednesday.

Medal Of Honour had lost to Babu by a length-and-a-half in the last meeting held on Aug 5.

Ridden by ace jockey Mohammad Essa, Medal Of Honour made amends by running an improved race to justify the confidence reposed in him by horse racing connoisseurs.

Fillies Black Caviar and Generosity occupied third and fourth positions respectively on board among 10 starters following withdrawal of Indian Ocean.

The winning owner Zain Rahim received the glittering cup from chairman of the club, Brig (retd) Iftikhar Haider, in the paddock during a ceremony held after the race. The horse was trained by M. Rafiq K.

The trio of Essa, Rahim and Rafiq celebrated a back-to-back double when three-year-old chestnut filly Sweety made an impressive debut imposing to three lengths victory in the next race.

The public fancy filly from Lahore beat mare Dexterous for the honours.

Colt Touching Wood edged bay horse Black Berry by head in a photo-finish verdict to pick up spoils in the seventh and concluding race.

At the outset, mare Green Nip won the opener which saw rider Zubair Ahmed (Easy Match) getting suspension of one month and a fine of Rs5,000 for ‘unsatisfactory’ riding.

Favourite colt Macho Man stretched his winning run defeating filly Fly To The Moon by five lengths in the next.

Phenominal and Golden Touch claimed the following two races as they pleased.
