PESHAWAR, Aug 1: Police have recovered a 10th class student of Peshawar and an industrialist of Nowshera in separate raids and arrested eight alleged kidnappers.

In Peshawar, city circle superintendent of police Asif Iqbal told a press conference in Malik Saad Khan Police Lines on Wednesday that the student, Haseeb Ali, was kidnapped on June 19, 2012 from Qazi Town area on Dalazak Road in the limits of Paharipura police station when he was on way to home from local mosque after Isha prayer.

“Mumtaz Ali had timely informed the local police about missing of his son and thus the police was making efforts for his recovery since then,” he said.

After receiving some clues, the SP said, police conducted raids on different places in Azakhel and Telaband areas and arrested three alleged abductors.

He said that the accused, including Ilyas Khan of Kamali Yousufkhel Mohmand Agency, Iqbal of Dhaki Swab Din Killay, Sher Ali of Kashmir Korona, disclosed the names of their accomplices.

Mr Iqbal said that during interrogation the accused said that the boy was in the custody of their other associates, including Fayaz and Rehmanullah of Telaband. He said that as police started raids for their arrest the accused freed the student near the Ring Road.

He claimed that the police had started search for arrest of the absconding kidnappers and they would soon be arrested.

In Nowshera, district police officer told a press conference on Wednesday that police had recovered the kidnapped owner of Kashmir Marble Industries, Abdul Hussain. He said that five alleged kidnappers were also arrested during the raid on a hideout.

The DPO said that police took the action following a tip-off that the industrialist was kept at a hideout in Risalpur area.

Abdul Hussain was kidnapped on July 3 along with his car and kept in the house of one Javid in the limits of Risalpur police station.

The arrested accused were identified as Khalid, Saeed Ahmad, Zahir Khan, Jahangir and Yousuf. The police also recovered two Kalashnikovs and two pistols from their possession.
