KARACHI, July 28: Federal Law Minister Farooq H. Naek has said that court orders do not apply to the president and the prime minister and their official decisions can not be challenged.

Talking to journalists after visiting the Sindh High Court here on Saturday, the law minister said all decisions of the president and the prime minister had constitutional protection under Article 242.

He said that running a government was the job of the executive, making a law was the responsibility of parliament and the court’s job was to ensure the implementation of laws.

However, the law minister said, the government respected the Supreme Court and did not want any clash of institutions.—APP
