RAWALPINDI, July 8: The city government has declared the grounds of 10 girls’ high schools as female parks in the evening to provide the local women an opportunity to use them for walks.

District Coordination Officer (DCO) Saqib Zafar has tasked Assistant Commissioner Quratul Ain Fatima with providing maximum facilities to the women in utilising the grounds in the evening.

Women from Satellite Town, Peshawar Road and Dhoke Kashmirian have started using the school grounds for their evening walks.

The city government will open seven more grounds for the women next week.

These schools are located at Dhoke Hassu, Benazir Bhutto Road, Satellite Town Block-B, Khyaban-i-Sir Syed, Bagh Sardaran, Ratta Amral and Peshawar Road.

“The women have appreciated the decision to provide them an opportunity to spend the evenings in the protected areas of schools for exercise and walks,” said the assistant commissioner while talking to this reporter.

She said school watchmen were on duty in the evening and there was no security issue for the women.
