ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Muslim League - Q (PML-Q) President Chaudhry Shujaat Hussain on Thursday said that his party was in the ruling coalition and it would support any candidate nominated by the PPP leadership.

“We will support whosoever is nominated by the PPP for the prime ministership. Whether they nominate Makhdoom Shahabuddin or Parvez Ashraf, we would support. We have no reservation against anyone,” said Shujaat while talking to reporters here at his residence after meeting JUI-F Ameer Maulana Fazlur Rehman.

The JUI-F chief in his meeting with Shujaat, sought support of PML-Q for his candidature for the election of prime minister.

Shujaat, however, said that being a senator, he could not vote for election of prime minister.

“If I had the right to vote for PM, I would have voted for Fazlur Rehman,” he said in a lighter vein. He also criticised the PML-N members for creating chaos during the Punjab Assembly session.
