A day without mom

This is regarding the story A day without mom by Javeria Khalid (YW, May 12, 2012). The story was hilarious, yet it carried a very serious message for all children. There are many among us who just take their parents’ responsibilities for granted and never appreciate them in any way.

Our parents work day and night for us, their focus of attention is our future and our well-being. But, sadly, we sometimes don’t notice how loving and caring they are to us. And if they scold us, we should not mind or get hurt, after all, they are our parents they have the right to tell us things if we are wrong. We should love and take care of them, help them in whichever way we can.

Scholarships

I am an old reader of YW. Over the years, the magazine has enhanced our vocabulary and knowledge; however, I think up till now, YW hasn’t covered a topic about scholarships that are announced every year for higher studies to students. Since it is for the betterment of our future and our country’s development, I think the YW team should also cover a topic dedicated to scholarships to bring awareness in children about the procedure, etc.

Quotes

I like Quotes in the YW, and this is with reference to the quotes that appeared in the issue of YW (April 21, 2012). All the quotes were mostly related to Earth and nature; I liked the one which was by Friedrich Nietzsche about earth’s skin diseases.

It was very inspiring and was sadly true too.

Perhaps Western ‘statesmen’ may moderate their policies if a significant percentage of voters punish them at the ballot box.
