PESHAWAR: At least 15 militants were killed and eight others injured as gunship helicopters heavily pounded militants' positions in area near the Afghan border in upper Orakzai Agency, official sources said.

The gunship choppers targeted militants in Kabo Kamar, Mamozai, Torsamat and Sama Bazzar, destroying five hideouts.

The security forces are conducting operations against extremist elements in Orakzai Agency and have killed hundreds of Taliban associated with different sections of banned outfits.
