ISLAMABAD: Before the official results in the Azad Jammu and Kashmir elections, Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gilani telephoned Sardar Attique Khan and discussed the region’s political situation with him.

Prime Minister Gilani and Sardar Attique were in agreement over working together for the progress and prosperity of Azad Kashmir, Prime Minister House sources told a private television channel.

Unconfirmed projections suggest Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) and Muslim Conference have gained majority in the elections for the AJK Legislative Assembly and the two parties could therefore form a government together.

Moreover, reports said the Pakistan People's Party (PPP) had managed to secure seats in 21 out of the 37 constituencies in the AJK elections.
