BADIN, Dec 27: A complete strike was observed in Golarchi and Kario Ghanwar on Monday in protest against Monday's killing of Jeay Sindh Muttahida Mahaz (JSMM) activist Majid Memon.

Strict security arrangements were made by police and Rangers.

DPO Badin Fida Hussain Mastoi said that two separate FIRs have been registered against more than 20 persons. Abdul Majeed Memon, father of deceased, lodged an FIR against Nasir Jatt, Aslam Tedi, Asif Raza and Mohammad Aslam. Another FIR under relevant sections of the Anti-Terrorism Act has been lodged by police on behalf of the state against more than 20 suspects.

Police have reportedly arrested 12 suspects and were conducting raids to arrest the remaining accused. Active members of the Laar Abadgar Welfare Association (LAWA) have also gone underground to avoid arrests.

PML-N leader Mohammad Ismail Rahu and Jeay Sindh Qaumi Mahaz chairman Basheer Qureshi reached Golarchi to condole death of Majid Memon.

The JSQM chief announced three days of mourning and protests across Sindh. Majid Memon was killed in a clash which followed a dispute on hoisting of JSMM flags on the office building of the LAWA.
