GWADAR: A Counter-Terrorism Department (CTD) official and a young man were shot dead in two separate incidents in Turbat, police and official sources said.

Unidentified armed men opened fire near Naveed Service in Dashti Bazar, targeting CTD official Shabbir Ahmed Askani.

Turbat SHO Mohsin Ali Baloch said the official was shot while at a motorcycle repair shop and died on the spot. Following the incident, police and other law enforcement agencies reached the scene, collected evidence, and cordoned off the area to trace the attackers.

The body was shifted to Teaching Hospital Turbat for legal formalities, while investigations into the targeted killing are underway.

Youth shot dead

In a separate incident, a young man was shot dead inside a vehicle in the Shahi Tump area late on Monday night.

According to police, the incident occurred around midnight near Shahi Tump Zong Ground, where a suspect identified as Sarfaraz allegedly shot and killed his friend, Zaheer, son of Saeedullah, inside a car before fleeing the scene.

The victim’s body was transported to Teaching Hospital Turbat for post-mortem examination and later handed over to the family.
