HARIPUR: Two minor boys were killed when the cemented shade of a door fell on them in Sera-i-Saleh area here on Friday evening.

The police said that scaffolding of the shade constructed two days ago broke and the concrete fell on the children playing underneath it in Jandran locality, critically injuring two.

The residents shifted the children to Haripur Trauma Centre, but they succumbed to injuries.

The deceased were identified as Ahmed Khan, 5, and 18-month-old Ehsan Rizwan.

Meanwhile, Regional Police Officer Qazi Jamilur Rehman has asked the policemen to work with local health authorities to defeat the Covid-19 pandemic.

Speaking to policemen deployed at different quarantine centres in Haripur, he said that it was incumbent on all the departments and the citizens to join hands with the government in the fight against the pandemic.

The police chief reviewed the facilities at the centres.

He asked the policemen to follow the precautionary measures while discharging their duties.
