CHARSADDA: Local people retrieved two bodies from the Kabul River near Mian Kallay area in the limits of Saro police station here on Sunday.

The villagers said that some locals spotted the bodies in the shallow water of the river and retrieved them.

Later, the bodies were identified as Bilal, a resident of Battagram, Charsadda, and Tariq Hussain of Jameel Chowk, Peshawar.

It could not be ascertained as to how the two men drowned.

Meanwhile, three members of a family, including a woman and her daughter, who were killed in a train accident in Nowshera, were laid to rest here on Sunday.

The victims, Taj Mohammad, his daughter-in-law, Nazia and granddaughter, Khadija, had gone to attend a marriage ceremony in Nowshera. They were crossing the railway line near Pir Payee when a train hit them, killing them on the spot.

Three other members of the family were injured in the incident.

The bodies were shifted to Charsadda where they were laid to rest in Umarzai area amid moving scenes.
