HYDERABAD: Pakistan Peoples Party central information secretary and Senator Moula Bux Chandio has said that the condition of former president Asif Ali Zardari is critical and the government should discharge its responsibility in this regard.
He made it clear that Asif Zardari would not beg for mercy and it looked as if the government would not provide any relief to Asif Zardari like Nawaz Sharif.
He was speaking at a press conference at his residence on Wednesday.
He claimed that attitude of Prime Minister Imran Khan with Sindh and PPP was biased and Sindh was being discriminated against.
He claimed that Pakistan was being ruled by those who believed in vengeance and would not prefer justice and reconciliation and only wanted to fight.
He said that courts had given their verdicts on illness of Nawaz Sharif but the rulers were “insulting” the former prime minister.
He expressed concern over health status of Asif Zardari and said that treatment in the government health facilities was not bringing any significant improvement in his health.
He said that it was an irony that even his children were not being allowed to meet him.
He said that prosecutors had informed court about condition of Asif Zardari, but this government was pursuing the path of confrontation from day one. He added that the “indifferent” attitude of rulers to Mr Zardari’s health issue would prove harmful.
He asked why private doctors were not being provided to the former president and why the government was avoiding showing seriousness on his health.
Addressing the establishment, he said that political stability could save Pakistan and if efforts were not made for this stability it would lead to negative consequences.
He said that due attention should be paid to Asif Zardari and rulers should avoid jeopardising political stability failing which Pakistan’s integrity would be in danger.
He claimed that the prime minister and his cabinet were following anti-Sindh policy and they were dreaming to become an alternative of the Muttahida Qaumi Movement-Pakistan in Sindh, but this dream would never translate into reality.
He expressed concern over statements of federal ministers regarding prices of tomatoes.
He said that Finance Adviser Hafeez Shaikh had nothing to do with Pakistan and Pakistani nation and he would return once this government was sent packing.
He asked Imran Khan to understand that he could derive strength from the parliament alone therefore he should approach Pakistan’s institutions, its people and politicians because they could jointly pull the country out of present crises.
He said that not a single shred of evidence was produced in courts against the PPP leadership and this government had nothing to do with justice.
He said that the PPP stood with Maulana Fazlur Rehman whenever he took its leadership on board.
He said that Imran Khan did not appreciate any correct advice, and when time would come he would find himself alone.
