KARACHI: Police have arrested 36 activists of a student group belonging to the Federal Urdu University and booked them in a case pertaining to an attack on Vice Chancellor Dr Altaf Husain, police said on Wednesday.

Gulshan SP Shahnawaz Chachar said that around 40-50 stick-wielding students “beat the VC and used abusive language against him when he came out of his office on Tuesday”.

The students were protesting on Oct 15 for their demands, which the varsity administration deemed ‘unjustified’, according to the contents of the FIR lodged on Wednesday.
