THIS refers to the news item ‘International Cricket Council suspends Zimbabwe’ (July 18). The International Cricket Council (ICC) has taken action against Zimbabwe Cricket for government interference.

This is the height of double standards, deceit and deception by the ICC, which takes action only against a weak and helpless cricket board like Zimbabwe.

Instead, it should have taken action against the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI), which has been doing the same for the last 71 years. Nevertheless, there is nobody in the spineless ICC having the guts to stop the Indian government’s direct intervention and explicit interference into BCCI operations and treat them the same way they have treated Zimbabwe Cricket.
