Properties’ sale, purchase: LDA, Nadra to work jointly on fraud control

LAHORE: The Lahore Development Authority (LDA) and the National Database and Registration Authority (Nadra) joined hands on Monday to control frauds in sale/purchase of residential and commercial properties in various parts the metropolis, including Johar Town, Gulberg, Township, Garden Town, Faisal Town and Muslim Town.

Nadra will charge fee according to the processing category for bio-metric verification, family verification and an applicant status verification (deceased, married), exclusive of federal and provincial taxes. All services provided by Nadra under the intended agreement shall be exclusive of all present and future taxes levied under provincial or federal laws.

According to a memorandum of understanding (MoU) signed by LDA and Nadra officials at the authority’s head office in Johar Town, Nadra would install its biometric system to identify and verify particulars of the applicants seeking transfer / transaction of properties, situated in a number of housing schemes.

Meanwhile, the LDA administration also sought expression of interest from the eligible firms to carry out beautification, remodeling of all underpasses, flyovers, Thokar Junction and Secretariat to Karbala Gamay Shah and some other sites.

ACTION: The Raiwind assistant commissioner sealed on Monday three Patwar Khanas for patwaris were absent and irrelevant people were sitting there.

The sealed offices are Mauza Rai, Buchay ki Maja and Ludhay ki Nawan. Also, the Pakistan Railways (Lahore) divisional transportation officer suspended Jia Bagga railway station master for sleeping during night hours.
