ISLAMABAD: President of the Supreme Court Bar Association (SCBA) Amanullah Kanrani on Saturday said lawyers were certain the Supreme Judicial Council (SJC) would decide the proceedings against Justice Qazi Faez Isa without being influenced by the government.

He said that an effective strategy would be devised in consultation with the Pakistan Bar Council (PBC) to lodge a strong protest on July 2 when the SJC would resume proceedings on the reference.

Referring to reports published in various newspapers regarding the SJC proceedings, the SCBA president said he would coordinate with PBC vice chairman Amjad Shah and contact provincial bar councils, high court and district bar associations next week to devise an effective strategy.
