SARGODHA: Three unidentified people threw acid on Dr Usman Imtiaz, vice-president of the Young Doctors’ Association (YDA), when he was driving his car near Zafar Ullah Chowk on Saturday. His right arm was affected in the attack.

The YDA leadership expressed grave concerns over the incident and approached the Sajid Shaheed Police for the registration of a case against three unidentified people.

They appealed to Chief Minister Usman Buzdar and the regional police officer for the registration of the case besides ensuring protection to doctors.

The YDA warned if their demands were not met, they would initiate appropriate steps for their protection.

POLICE: The police seized a huge quantity of fireworks and crackers from the Kabari Bazaar and arrested an accused who was selling crackers in violation of a ban on the trade of the fireworks.

Also, District Police Officer Hassan Mushtaq Sukhera said transport facilities would be provided to the police so that criminals be chased properly.

He said government property and machinery were valuable assets and should be properly maintained and looked after.

He was speaking at an event to distribute tyres to various mobile units.
