TAXILA: Two women and four children belonging to the same family were killed after a cave in which they were sleeping collapsed early on Friday.

According to District Emergency Officer Dr Mohammad Ishfaq, the family was living in the cave, locally known as bohra, in the Arrung village located in the Bolianawal Union Council.

Quoting relatives of the deceased, he said the dead included Shazia Bibi, 30, her six-year-old son Mohammad Lateef, eight-year-old nephew Umer Nawaz, Aabid Bibi, 34, and her two daughters – Iqra Bibi, 4, and two-year-old Hifza Noor.
Police sources said 11 people were sleeping in the cave when its roof collapsed.

People retrieved the bodies from the debris and shifted them to the District Headquarters (DHQ) Hospital. Later, the bodies were handed over to the heirs.
