PESHAWAR: Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Assembly Speaker Mushtaq Ahmed Ghani on Friday adjourned the session due to lack of quorum without discussing a single item on the agenda.

Only five lawmakers were present in the house, one on the treasury benches and four on the opposition, after the session started following a two-day break.

When Awami National Party MPA Khushdil Khan pointed out the lack of quorum, the chair adjourned the session till Monday.

Speaking to the mediapersons on the assembly premises, minister for local government Shahram Khan Tarakai said it was responsibility of both the treasury and opposition lawmakers to ensure their presence in the house.
