SIALKOT: Deputy Commissioner Dr. Farrukh Naveed on Saturday handed over Rs0.5 million compensation each to families of six people who were killed by the Indian firing along the border.
On Friday, the Indian border security force fired mortar shells on villages in Charwah, Harpal, Sucheetgarh, Meerjakey and Chaprar sectors. As a result, six people, including four members of a family, were killed.
On Saturday, the DC visited the shelling-hit villages and gave compensation cheques on behalf of the chief minister.
